Why I’m giving my time away for $1

Today, I decided to embark on a new project, OneHour.me, which allows you to book one to three hours of my time starting at just $1. Each time someone purchases an hour, the price goes up by another dollar.

But, why do this? It’s an experiment and an opportunity. These days, I have plenty of work and a ton of great clients for whom I do development and design and my typical rate is considerably higher.

However, I want to open up my time to people whom I wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to work with; people I don’t know, people that can’t necessarily afford my full rate, or people who just need a little advice. There are hundreds (or thousands) of great companies and people I’d love to help—and that I hope my skillset can provide value to.

Additionally, working with a wide variety of people for just one to three hours is a completely different experience than a 150+ hour design and development project. There is the opportunity to have a huge amount of impact in a short conversation, and I’d like to find out how much value I can offer in that time.

I’d love to work with you for an hour.
